I am a first-year Ph.D. student primarily interested in philosophy of science and aesthetics. Although my interests are broad, here are some topics I've been pondering recently:

- The incommensurability (in a Kuhnian term) between indigenous and local knowledge (ILK) and Western science and the possibility of relational ontologies (such as Barad's agential realism and Nadasdy's indeterminacy) being an antidote to the incommensurability

- How aesthetic engagement with the environment can help us mitigate environmental crises

Michael Weisberg is the Bess W. Heyman President’s Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Deputy Director of Perry World House. A climate diplomat, philosopher of science, climate policy researcher, and experienced academic leader, he has worked to negotiate and achieve collective outcomes in the complex landscape of climate, ocean, and development issues at the highest levels of international diplomacy.

I specialize in philosophy of science, philosophy of biology, and philosophy of race.  In philosophy of science, I primarily focus on metaphysical problems in science, such as what is an appropriate way to define "natural kinds."  In philosophy of biology, I primarily focus on metaphysical problems in biology, such as whether biological populations can have fuzzy temporal parts; and whether there's any way to divide Homo sapiens into biologically real races for taxonomy, population genetics, or medicine.
