BA in Philosophy and Biology, University of Pennsylvania, 2022

Master of Bioethics (MBE), Harvard University, 2023

I am a first-year PhD student in Philosophy. I completed my undergraduate work here at Penn SAS, where I completed majors in Philosophy (with a concentration in Philosophy & Science) and Biology (with a concentration in Molecular & Cell Biology) with minors in Hispanic Studies and Chemistry. I then completed my MBE at Harvard Medical School, before returning to Penn to work in health policy as a Policy Coordinator and Senior Policy Coordinator at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics (Penn LDI) in the Wharton School.

As a PhD student, I plan to broadly focus on the moral and political philosophies of science and medicine.

Research Interests

My interests surround the intersections of philosophy of science (with an emphasis on philosophy of biology, medicine, and race), moral philosophy, and political philosophy as critical tools for justice.

Specifically, I am interested in examining how matters of knowledge, health, power, and human ontology metaphysically and epistemologically relate to Western social, political, and economic structures—with a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in both theory and practice. For me, an example of how this manifests as an interest is critically considering our understanding of genetics and epigenetics, molecular ecology, patterns of adaptation, and eugenics.

As a philosopher and bioethicist, my hope is to make contributions to biomedical, political, and public discourse that are structurally responsive to our pursuit of justice.
