I am a third-year student in the combined JD/PhD in philosophy program. I am interested how agency is shaped by group membership. This includes groups we don't choose to be part of, like race, gender, and (sometimes) national citizenship, and groups we do, like bands, political parties, fan clubs, or sports teams. I'm also interested in the relationships we form as members of these groups, and what keeps these groups together. Being "Canadian" or "French," "liberal" or "conservative," is something that many people to be core to their identity. Whether we perceive someone as belonging to a certain group affects how we perceive the moral status of their actions, whether they are responsible for them, and so on. But most of the people in our country are strangers to us. But then again, so are most of the people in our workplaces, political parties, or sports clubs. Why and how do these groups stay together?

Thus, my research interests spread across many traditional divisions of philosophy, including philosophy of law, agency, ethics, moral responsibility, political philosophy, feminist philosophy, social epistemology, and social ontology.

Outside of philosophy, I enjoy vegan baking, playing field hockey, and watching horror movies.
