Anita Allen, J.D., Ph.D., vice provost for faculty, Henry R. Silverman Professor of Law, and professor of philosophy elected to the National Academy of Medicine

On October 17th, 2016, Anita Allen, J.D., Ph.D., vice provost for faculty, Henry R. Silverman Professor of Law, and professor of philosophy, was one of 79 new members elected to the National Academy of Medicine, an especial honor for a non-STEM scholar.

“These newly elected members are outstanding professionals who care deeply about advancing health and health care in the U.S. and globally,” said National Academy of Medicine President Victor J. Dzau.  “Their expertise will help our organization address pressing health challenges and improve health, science, and medicine for the benefit of us all.  It is my privilege to welcome these accomplished individuals to the National Academy of Medicine.”
